Purely Clear is adding a new product to our all-natural skin care and mineral makeup line.  The new product is Intensive Acne Serum.  Not only has the product shown to prevent and reduce acne, but it is also an excellent product to shrink enlarged pores. 

Most acne products on the market today use chemicals to either overly dry out the skin or aggressively exfoliate the skin.  Over drying the skin actually causes the skin to produce more oil in the long run to compensate for the dryness which then causes more breakouts and excessive oil production.   Aggressive exfoliation leads to skin damage which can lead to wrinkles and other negative skin issues.  Also, the topical application of chemicals can lead to numerous health issues from endocrine disorders to various cancers. 

One of the primary goals of Purely Clear is to make people aware of the fact that what they put on their skin absorbs into their blood and cells.  Based upon that truth, we produce products that not only produce beautiful, clear, healthy skin, but have beneficial effects on the body as a whole.

A recent study showed that topical application of a cream containing green tea extract provided significant protection to the skin against damaging ultra violet (UV) rays.

Research has shown that individuals who regularly use essential oils not only have a higher resistance to colds, flu and other diseases, but actually recover 60-75% faster if they do contract an illness than those who don’t use essential oils.

Almost all commercial cosmetic products that are in any liquid, lotion or cream form will be processed using high heat blending methods and chemical emulsifiers.  They are processed this way to allow for a more consistent blend of the ingredients, especially when water and oil based ingredients are in the same blend.  This processing method also allows for a shelf life in excess of four years.   We do not add any chemical emulsifiers nor do we use high heat methods in the blending and processing of Purely Clear products.

High heat cooking or microwaving of foods destroys beneficial enzymes and nutrients.  It will also destroy and deplete the valuable nutrient content of ingredients used in cosmetics.  Because we use cold processing methods and no chemical emulsifiers, our products need to be shaken before each use.

It is not our goal to make skin care products that last for 4-5 years on store shelves or that even look or smell “pretty.”  It is our goal to use natural ingredients in their most natural, unprocessed form to nourish the skin and body.

Just as the body will be healthier from eating a diet of fresh, natural foods, as opposed to microwaved, processed foods; so the skin will be healthier from using natural unprocessed cosmetics.

As I get older, I notice more and more that I need to have a daily routine to keep my skin looking healthy, clean and wrinkle free.  I prefer the organic, natural products.  There are enough pollutants in the air, so why add more with your toner or moisturizer?

I don’t get too many blemishes a just a few here and there.  I do have blackheads, a bad T-Zone, and very dry cheeks.  This combo makes it difficult to finding products that will not send my pores into overload.

The first annual Redneck Reindeer Games will take place in Knoxville on Thursday, December 18.  This is a progressive Redneck Olympics where at each stop you will receive fabulous door prizes.  T-shirts will also be available for sale and all proceeds will benefit Young-Williams Animal Center.  Opening and closing ceremonies will be held at Aubrey’s, 6005 Brookvale Lane.
