Aloe and Your Skin

Aloe Vera has been used since ancient times by healers to compose different remedies for literally hundreds of ailments.  Its most common uses today are to help soothe burns and aid in healthy skin when applied topically.  The primary oral use of aloe is for its soothing benefits to the stomach and digestive system although it has been used in other ailments such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

“Aloe vera’s makeup contains many active compounds, including vitamins, minerals, enzymes and organic acids.  While the complete science behind the compounds is not fully understood, elements found within aloe can act as anti-inflammatory agents and produce other favorable characteristics, thus aiding in the protection and regeneration of healthy skin.  In addition, aloe is a good source of antioxidants such as vitamin C, E and zinc.”*

Purely Clear uses aloe vera in its skin care products because of its versatility in not only addressing varying skin types and conditions, but for its overall health promoting benefits.  Remember, what you put on your skin is absorbed into and affects your body as a whole.
